Inside the turreted walls of the end of the XV century, the old town is a maze of picturesque lanes, embroidered with a white stone houses, Baroque palaces joined by stairs, narrow streets and shops. A little further on, continuing along the coast, you reach the natural reserve of Torre Guaceto, the archeological site of Egnatia, and a few steps towards the inland, the famous Trulli of Alberobello and the suggestive Grotte di Castellana. In the province of Brindisi stones and buildings tell the story of this land. The Via Appia and the Via Traiana, which connected the city to Rome, have left their mark on the modern roads that follow their path.
